Marks increased due to error` = (90-55) = 35`

So, the number of students` = 35 / 1.4 = 25`

2. The ratio of income and expenditure of two friends are 6:11 and 3:7 respectively. If each of them saves $90, then find out the income of two friends

(a) $2200, $2400
(b) $2400, $4400
(c) $600, $1100
(d) $1200, $2200

  Ratio Difference emptyset(Income) `= 11 - 6 = 5`

  Ratio Difference (expenditure)` = 7-3=4`

  Now, Income Ratio `= (6:11)×4 = 24 : 44 `

  Expenditure Ratio` = (3:1)×5 = 15 : 35`

  So, in both cases Savings Ratio` = (24 - 15) = (44 - 35) = 9`

  So, Incomes are `(90/9) × 24 = 2400`

  and` (90/9) ×44 = 4400`

3. Jack runs 5/4 times as fast as David. If Jack gives David a start of 200 m, how far must the winning post be if both of them have to end the race at the same time?

Ratio of Speed = `5 / 4 = 5:4`

Ratio of time` = 4:5`

Ratio of distance `= 4:5`

Now `5-4` (distance ratio difference) = `1`
